Richardson Sikawa

Richardson Sikawa is a Kenyan senior School teacher, Educational Technologist and EduTech advocate committed to making digital learning practical, inclusive and relevant to African classrooms.

His work focuses on bridging the gap between educational technology and everyday classroom practice, particularly in schools facing limited devices, connectivity and financial resources. He has developed practical approaches that help teachers integrate technology while maintaining a strong focus on pedagogy, learner engagement, assessment, inclusion and Competency-Based Education.

A major contribution is his published guide, Teaching in the Digital Age, a practical resource for Kenyan junior and senior school teachers. The guide provides classroom strategies, digital assessment approaches, inclusion and accessibility guidance, digital safety practices, school implementation frameworks and low-tech alternatives for resource-constrained environments.

His work extends beyond authorship to teacher professional development, school-wide digital pedagogy and inclusive EdTech innovation. He has also explored AI-supported and personalised learning through concepts such as EduWote, with particular attention to accessibility and learners with disabilities.

Richardson is developing a broader model that combines teacher training, school case studies, practical implementation tools and responsible technology use.

His contribution demonstrates that meaningful EdTech innovation can originate from classroom practitioners and can be designed to be practical, inclusive, affordable, scalable and responsive to African educational realities.
