Wendo Sahar is the Founder and Executive Director of Dandelion Africa, bringing over a decade of strategic leadership to rural healthcare equity. Determined to ensure distance is never a barrier to survival, Wendo leads a team of 65 professionals and 2,500+ Community Health Promoters transforming marginalized communities. Under her leadership, Dandelion Africa has trained healthcare workers across 200+ government facilities in Emergency Obstetric Care, established 64 Backpack Nurse sites for hard-to-reach areas, and built two health centers dedicated to dignified maternal care.

Her visionary impact is deeply measurable: over 1.5 million people have accessed primary healthcare, 300,000+ women received contraceptives, and more than 100,000 skilled deliveries have been supported. Wendo’s transformative framework has earned Dandelion Africa widespread acclaim, including prestigious recognition through Kenya’s Presidential Awards.
